Obsolete Calibre M1871/88 Beaumont-Vitali Rifle

Obsolete Calibre Dutch M1871/88 11mm Calibre Beaumont-Vitali Rifle by P Stevens of Maastricht and in good, original condition, with tight action and excellent bore. Made in 1874, issued in 1875, and adapted to the 1888 configuration in 1891, according to the various stamps on the gun. The wrist has been professionally repaired at some point, but is strong and stable. The M1871-88 Beaumont-Vitali was a conversion of the M1871 Beaumont converted using the Italian designed Vitali 4 round box magazine system. The conversions began in 1888 and were done to all of the Regular Dutch army rifles, though the rifles in service in the Dutch East Indies and for Home Guard were not all converted. An unusual find.
