Deactivated Savage 99 7.62mm NATO Calibre Lever Action Rifle. In excellent deactivated condition with full working action and complete with quick detach 6x42 high quality scope. The Savage 99 was introduced in 1899 and was an instant success. They have an internal firing mechanism, that gives a faster lock time, so are more accurate and impervious to dust and dirt. They also use an internal rotary magazine, which allows the use of spitzer type bullets, like the .300 Savage Calibre, on which the 7.62mm NATO round is heavily based. This means that they can be more powerful and have a longer range than other lever action designs. These guns are especially popular with hunters in cold climates, like Canada, where they are not affected by `locking’ problems, unlike other weapon types. They are still in use, all over the world and being Savages, are well made, rugged and reliable working guns that are designed to be handled and used every day. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
