Deactivated M3 .50 Calibre Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun in excellent deactivated condition. Complete with rare anti-aircraft pintle mount, which attaches to the standard field tripod and correct spider sight. Colt manufacture with US military stamps. The M3 version of the .50 Cal was the version intended for armoured vehicles, ships, air defence and aircraft, with a shorter barrel and an air cooling jacket. Otherwise, it was essentially the same as the standard infantry M2. The Browning .50 Calibre Machine Gun, is a heavy machine gun designed towards the end of World War I by John Browning. It is very similar in design to John Browning's earlier M1919 Browning machine gun, which was chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. It has been used extensively as a vehicle weapon and for aircraft armament by the United States from the 1920s to the present day. It was heavily used during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, as well as during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan in the 2000s. It is the primary heavy machine gun of all NATO countries, and has been used by many other countries as well, most notably, Israel. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
