Ultra Rare Old Spec French FAMAS F1 5.56mm NATO Assault Rifle. In excellent condition and complete with correct Bayonet, Ultra Rare French Military NATO Scope mount, Grenade Fire Magazine, Sling, Cleaning Kit and Jump Bag. The FAMAS F1 Assault Rifle entered service with the French Army and French Foreign Legion in 1978. It was a radical departure from any of the previous French weapons and made use of a retarded locked breach action, with no gas system at all. This was designed to make it very reliable in the dusty desert conditions that French forces often found themselves in. It has many good features, including multi aperture rear sight, built in low light, hi-visibility sights, two types of grenade sight (one for direct fire, the other for mortar type fire), as it was designed to fire any NATO rifle grenade, adjustable grenade launcher ring to increase grenade accuracy, built in bipod that is very sturdy and the ability to change from right hand to left hand ejection in seconds. Oh, and a three round burst option as standard. We believe this to be the only old spec FAMAS in the UK deactivated before 1995. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
