Deactivated 1943 Springfield M1903A3 Rifle SN. 1656 ^

Deactivated US Springfield .30/06 Calibre M1903A3 Rifle in fair deactivated condition and February, 1943 dated Smith Corona production, with US Military stamps throughout. Has a hole in the side of the breach (see pics), rear sight, mag follower and spring, and some other small parts missing, hence price. Sold as seen but an excellent project. The M1903A3 Springfield was America's answer to the Mauser and when all is said and done it is a copy of the Mauser action. Saying that, it was an excellent rifle and was famed for its superb accuracy. This is the A3 version that was introduced in 1942 and differs mainly in the rear sight and grip of the stock. These are still popular today as target rifles and are one of the best looking bolt actions out there. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
