US AN6510 Parachute bag, with original label Standard Parachute Corp, California, the flap doesn't lock down anymore, otherwise in good condition. Perhaps the most iconic of vintage parachutes, the seat type was one of the most versatile and widely used parachutes of the era. Designed with the pilot sitting on the parachute pack, it allowed flyers to easily flex in their seats and enjoy greater visibility in all directions. Adopted in 1928 as the S-1, it was re-standardized as the AN-6510 in 1941. Due to huge surplus stocks of seat parachutes during the war, this type was widely issued to fighter pilots as well as on training flights.
