Obsolete Calibre Wänzl Rifle SN. 0215 "

Availability: In stock

£1,350.00

Quick Overview

Obsolete Calibre Wänzl 14 x 33 Rimfire Calibre Rifle in excellent condition, with 1860 dated lock, and a tight action, with an excellent bore. The Wänzl rifle was a breech loading conversion of the Lorenz rifle. The Austro-Hungarian Empire used the Wänzl as their service rifle until they had enough M1867 Werndl-Holub rifles to arm their front line units. The Austrians converted a total of 70,000 Lorenz muskets to Wänzls. They were a very solid, simple design and were capable of good accuracy out to about 400 metres. They remained in service with Austrian second line units until the end of World War One. Obsolete Calibre Antique, no licence required.
