Le Faucheux 20 Shot Pinfire Revolver

Availability: Out of stock

This item is no longer available and is for refence only

Quick Overview

Rare Le Faucheux 7mm Pinfire Double Barrelled 20 Shot Revolver. Very good, original condition and mechanically very good and complete with original wooden case, cleaning rod, key and grease. Single action is a little temperamental but both bores are excellent and double action works well. The Le Faucheux 20 Shot Pinfire Revolver first appeared in 1864 and was the brainchild of Eugene Faucheux. It is an ingenious design with two, over and under barrels and a double row of chambers in the cylinder. It has two firing pins on the hammer and two cylinder stop pawls, all of which work in unison to alternately fire from either the top or bottom barrels. They were used in the American Civil War, mostly by the Union side and also were popular in South America. Remember, this was at a time when most weapons were cap and ball and the thought of having a twenty shot pistol that could be emptied by simply pulling the trigger and then reloading in a minute was, to most, a miracle and made the user almost invincible. A rare piece of firearms history. Obsolete Calibre, no licence required.
