Deactivated WZ48 Training Rifle SN: 4766 +-
Deactivated Rare Polish WZ48 .22 LR Calibre Training Rifle. 1956 dated Polish production, in very good, original deactivated condition, with correct sling. Latest EU spec, so moving trigger and bolt, but non firing action. The Nagant M1944 entered service in 1944 and differed from the earlier M38 in having a side folding bayonet. Recent documents claim that it was not intended for just second line troops and cavalry, but was intended to fully replace the standard length rifle, as it was considered too long for conventional modern warfare by the end of the Spanish Civil War, which the Soviets had been monitoring very closely. In fact the barrel is a full twenty inches long and by today’s standards would be considered quite normal. The Nagants were very tough weapons and could take a huge amount of abuse, like most Soviet designed weapons. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
