Complete with original sling. The United Defence Model 42 SMG was produced from 1942 to 1943 by Marlin for the United Defense Supply Corporation as a replacement for the Thompson submachine gun. This never happened and they ended up being used by agents of the American Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in Italy and France, and by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) in Yugoslavia, Greece and Crete. They were also used by elements of the Polish Paratroopers during Operation Market Garden in Holland.
