Deactivated Super Rare Japanese Type 89 50mm “Knee” Mortar with all original markings and full matching numbers. Excellent overall deactivated condition, with full moving parts and working action. The Type 89 entered service in 1929 and was in production until 1945. They could fire high explosive, incendiary, fragmentation, and smoke munitions and had a maximum range of 600metres. They also saw service in the Korean War, Malaysian Emergency, and Vietnam, as large numbers were used by China and her allies. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
