Deactivated Steyr AUG Suppressed Carbine SN. A399 *

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Deactivated Steyr 9mm NATO Calibre Carbine in very good condition. Complete with removable steel sound suppressor, working optical sight, moving safety, cocking handle (under spring pressure), and removable mag. This the 9mm version of the AUG, which was developed for police and hostage rescue scenarios where the 5.56mm round would be too powerful. The Steyr Armee Universal Gewehr entered service with the Austrian Army as the STG 77 in 1978 and has been in constant production ever since. It is basically a full sized battle rifle, with a 20 inch barrel in a bullpup configuration that makes use of advanced polymers and has a built in optical sight. Sounds quite normal nowadays, but in the late 1970s it was a major leap forward in both design and the technology involved. It has since been adopted by over 30 armies worldwide and is now in the A3 stage, with all the normal picatinny rails, etc. that the modern day warrior has come to expect. At heart though, it is still the same old super tough, very reliable, light weight and accurate weapon that has made it a modern classic that regularly turns up in the `top ten’ lists. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
