Deactivated Old Spec Sten MK IIS Silent 9mm Sub Machine Gun in very good deactivated condition. The silent Sten first appeared in 1943 for use in clandestine warfare operations in occupied Europe. The first users were S.O.E and the various resistance groups in Nazi occupied countries. Captured examples were even used by German commandos. It was the standard by which all other silent and suppressed SMGs were judged until well into the 1960s. They were a favourite of US Special Forces in Vietnam and one was even used by the Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre on the raid on Pebble Island during the Falklands War. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
