Deactivated Starr Model 1858 .44 Calibre Cap and Ball Black Powder Revolver by Pietta. In excellent deactivated condition. The Starr Model 1858 Revolver was only made from 1858 until 1863, and was used heavily in the American Civil War. They earned a good reputation for ruggedness and reliability, but the Union government wanted a more simple, single action design which was quicker and cheaper to manufacture. This led to the Starr Model 1863 single action. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
