Deactivated Star BM 9mm Pistol in excellent deactivated condition. The Star 9mm Pistols closely resemble a 1911, but there are several differences, the most obvious being the lack of a grip safety. They were very well made, quality weapons, with a good reputation for reliability. The post war models were the official issue sidearm of the South African defence forces until the mid-1990s and were also a popular private purchase choice for soldiers in the Israeli army, as they are very reliable, but cost a lot less than Colts. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
