Deactivated Soviet PKM 7.62mm General Purpose Machine Gun in very good deactivated condition. 1985 Russian manufacture and complete with correct belt box and twenty rounds on the correct belt. The PKM was an update of the earlier PK (Пулемёт Калашникова: Pulemyot Kalashnikova, or Kalashnikov's Machinegun). It entered service in 1969 and is still going strong in front line service with over sixty armies, worldwide. It is an excellent design that is extremely reliable in all conditions and can really take abuse, like most Soviet designs. It fires the 7.62 x 54mm Nagant rifle cartridge, which gives it greater power and range than its NATO rivals, yet only weighs 16 ½ pounds. It feeds from the right hand side of the weapon, unlike most of its rival designs and comes in several different versions for tank and helicopter use. An excellent design that is definitely a rival to the much loved British L7 GPMG. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
