Quick Overview

Deactivated Smith and Wesson Model 459 9mm Pistol in very good deactivated condition. The 459 was just the updated, second generation version of the Model 59 The S&W Model 59 Pistol was introduced in 1971 and was basically just a 15 round, double stack version of the model 39, developed for the US Army. The S&W 39 Pistol was introduced in 1955 and was the first double action American semi-auto pistol ever produced. They were developed for the US Army, who were so impressed by the Walther P38 during WWII, that they asked smith and Wesson to develop a pistol with similar features. The army dropped the programme, but they were put into production anyway. They were the first semi-auto to be adopted by a US Police Department and confirmed the semi-automatic pistol as a reliable option in the eyes of the American public. The whole range of these Smith and Wesson autos are known as reliable and accurate weapons, with certain versions being used by Navy SEALs, the FBI and various law enforcement agencies all over the world. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
