Deactivated Silent Sterling SMG SN. 3903 +-
Deactivated Silent Sterling 9mm NATO Calibre Sub Machine Gun in very good deactivated condition, with correct sling, moving steel bolt (under spring pressure), trigger, and safety. The Silent Sterling SMG came into service in 1960 and was a regular issue weapon with the British Special Forces until the late 1980’s, although they were not retired entirely until after 9/11. They were also adopted by at least 30 other army’s special units, and saw service in Vietnam with the Australian SAS and US Green Berets. They are a very well-made, extremely reliable and effective silent SMG, and are capable of firing standard high velocity 9mm NATO ammunition and slowing the bullet to below the speed of sound, as well as suppressing the gases and flash. For this reason, they are actually quieter than a HK MP5SD firing sub sonic, less powerful ammo, with better range, noise suppression and power. The magazines of these weapons are acknowledged to be the best engineered and thought out design on the planet, and can keep operating when all other magazines have ceased to function. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
