This is the very rare all stainless steel model (slide and frame) and is much heavier than the alloy frame model. The P226 was originally developed to compete in the US Army pistol trails in the mid-1980s. Like all other SIG weapons, they soon gained a fearsome reputation for reliability and accuracy and were soon being adopted by police and armed forces all over the world. They are the standard issue handgun of the SAS and SBS, US Navy SEALS, GROM and a plethora of other special units and tactical teams, as well as very high civilian sales the world over. In my humble opinion, it is the finest 9mm issue handgun I have ever fired and is very easy to shoot well with, due to its very ergonomic design. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
