The P225 was originally developed to compete in the German police pistol trails in the mid-1970s. Like all other SIG weapons, they soon gained a fearsome reputation for reliability and accuracy and were soon being adopted by 90 percent of the various German Federal Police forces as the P6. In my humble opinion, it is one of the finest 9mm handguns I have ever fired and is very easy to shoot well with, due to its very ergonomic design.
