Deactivated SAR 80 Assault Rifle SN. 1990 *

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Deactivated SAR 80 5.56mm Assault Rifle in excellent deactivated condition and with moving trigger. In the early 1970s, Sterling Armaments Company engineers had developed their own 5.56 mm rifle design, the Light Automatic Rifle (LAR). However, this was shelved when Sterling acquired a manufacturing licence for the Armalite AR-18 assault rifle and began production of this design instead. While Sterling could not legally sublicense the AR-18, their LAR design was available, and as a result, Chartered Industries, of Singapore bought the design and began manufacturing it for their armed forces in 1976. They were also sold to several other nations, including Croatia, Slovenia, and Sri Lanka. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
