The S&W SW99 is just a Walther made P99 Pistol marketed by Smith and Wesson to get around US import laws. The Walther P99 first appeared in 1996 and quickly became Walther’s top of the line pistol. It is very comfortable to hold, due to its polymer moulded frame and utilises a striker fire system with a conventional single/ double action trigger and a decocker instead of a safety. Like all Walther products, it is made from the finest materials and displays engineering excellence. They have been adopted by Finland and Iraq as their standard service pistol and are in use by hundreds of police forces, including being the standard pistol of SCO19, the elite British Police firearms unit.
