Deactivated Remington 1875 Revolver SN. 1450 + "
Deactivated Remington 1875 .38 Calibre Revolver. Italian reproduction in very good deactivated condition, with bullet heads in the chamber. First appearing in 1875, this was Remington’s answer to the Peacemaker. They worked in exactly the same way as the Colt, but retained the distinctive Remington `holster guide’ of the earlier 1858 model, as well as the same grip. They were sturdy, quality weapons and could do anything the Colt could do. They were in production until 1889 and never really managed to catch up with the Peacemaker, which had a two year head start and US military contracts under its belt. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
