Deactivated Relic Twin MG81Z Machine Guns SN. 6269/6270 - *
Deactivated Super Rare Relic Luftwaffe Twin MG81Z Machine Guns, with consecutive serial numbers, and moving safety and trigger. A special twin-mount MG 81Z (the Z suffix stands for Zwilling, - twin in German) was introduced in 1942. It paired up two of the weapons on one mount to provide even more firepower with a maximum cyclic rate of fire of 3,200 rounds per minute without requiring much more space than a standard machine gun. The MG81 was the aircraft development of the MG34 and was made by Mauser from 1940 until 1945. They were utilised in various German war planes and had a rate of fire between 1400 to 1600 RPM, depending on ammunition type. They were much simpler and sturdier than the standard parent MG34 and could operate at the very low temperatures encountered at high altitude. An amazing, piece of World War Two history. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
