Deactivated Rare 1916 Mauser G98 Rifle SN. 1228 ^

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Deactivated Mauser G98 7.92mm Rifle. Imperial German 1916 Mauser production and in very good original (Rare unblued receiver – nearly all were blued in the 1920s) deactivated condition. Complete with super rare original steel action cover that hinges open for use, original leather sling, and muzzle cap/sight protector. The Gewehr 98, abbreviated to G98 or Gew 98, was the standard German infantry rifle from 1898 to 1935. The Gewehr 98 saw service primarily in World War I, where it performed admirably. As with all contemporary bolt-action rifles of the period, it was a powerful and accurate weapon with long range. The action on the G98 was considered to be the benchmark for other bolt action rifles. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
