The PPI is and exact copy of the Mossberg M500 made in the Philipines. The Mossberg 500 series was introduced in 1961 and they have gained a reputation for toughness and reliability to the point where they have been adopted by the US and Dutch armed forces. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
