Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Non EU sales Only. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec. Deactivated Old Spec Vickers .303 Heavy Machine Gun with correct canvass issue barrel jacket. 1939 dated Lithgow production in excellent overall condition, with 1940 dated pintle. The Vickers Gun was adopted in 1912 and retired from service in 1968, the Vickers Machine Gun can best be summed up best by Ian V. Hogg, the well-known and respected small arms expert. He describes an action that took place in August 1916, during which the British Army's 100th Company of the Machine Gun Corps fired their ten Vickers guns continuously for twelve hours. They fired a million rounds between them, using 100 new barrels, without a single breakdown. 'It was this absolute fool proof reliability which endeared the Vickers to every British soldier who ever fired one.' No more needs to be said! They can still be found in service all over the world, especially in former British colonies, and they will be around for many years to come. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec.
