Non EU sales Only. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec. Deactivated Old Spec Very Rare Japanese Type 3 7.92mm Heavy Machine Gun. In very good condition, and with Japanese Imperial Kokura Arsenal Manufacture stamps and Chilean army markings. The Type 3 heavy machine gun was heavily influenced by the French Hotchkiss HMG. From 1914 Japan produced the Type 3 under license from Hotchkiss using the 6.5x50mm Arisaka ammunition. They changed to the more powerful 7.7mm cartridge in 1932. The Type 3 was fed from a 30 Rnd stripper clip and could keep firing continuously, as long as it was fed ammunition. Its heavy gauge construction, oversized working parts and finned, air cooled barrel made it very reliable. Chile bought several hundred Type 3 machine guns in 7.92mm Mauser as the Modelo 1920. It continued in Japanese service until the end of WWII, and Japan also sold them to Chile, The Philippines, Korea, China, and Indochina. They saw service in every major conflict in the region, from WWI to the Korean war. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec.
