Non EU sales Only. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec. Very Rare Deactivated Old Spec Silent Sten MK VI 9mm Sub Machine Gun, with even rarer case catcher included. British, M/78 (Elkington), British military stamped, and in excellent deactivated condition. The silent Sten first appeared in 1943 for use in clandestine warfare operations in occupied Europe. The first users were S.O.E and the various resistance groups in Nazi occupied countries. Captured examples were even used by German commandos, including Otto Skorzeny’s Special Forces. The Sten MK VI first appeared in numbers in late 1944. Over 24,000 were made from 1944 until the late 1950’s, most being converted MK V’s, post war. It was the standard by which all other silent and suppressed SMGs were judged until well into the 1960s, and is a remarkably quiet weapon. They were a favourite of US Special Forces, LRRP Teams, and the Australian SAS in Vietnam, and they still turn up occasionally within the wilder parts of Empire and the Commonwealth. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec.
