Deactivated Old Spec SGM Machine Gun SN. H543 “

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Non EU sales Only. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec. Deactivated Rare Old Spec Soviet SGM 7.62 Nagant Calibre Medium Machine Gun, in very good, original deactivated condition. 1968 Tula manufacture, with matching numbers, excluding the bolt. The SGM (Systema Goryunova Moditsiyen) was the post war version of the Soviet SG-43 MMG. It was basically the same weapon, but with the cocking handle moved to the side, a fluted barrel to make it both lighter and quicker to cool, port covers, to keep out dirt and an improved bolt lock up. They were very sturdy and reliable and served in the ground role with the Soviets until 1968, though use in AFVs was common until the late 1980s. They can still be found in hot spots all over the world and will be around as long as the ammo is available for them. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec.
