Deactivated Rare mg53/ MG2 7.62mm NATO Calibre General Purpose Machine Gun in excellent deactivated condition, with correct feed tray, that can accept the plastic HK 7.62 drum magazines. Complete with HK Lafette and optic (Clear as a bell), 50 rnd ammo belt of 7.62mm NATO inert rounds. This MG2 has been converted from a Yugoslavian MG53. This was done from the mid 1970’s, onwards and is fitted with the correct 7.62mm feed tray, plastic stock, and 7.62 NATO rear sight. Once coverted, their designation changed to MG3. The MG53 has a proven record of reliability, durability, simplicity, and ease of operation, but is most notable for being able to produce a stunning volume of suppressive fire. The MG53 has one of the highest average rates of fire of any single-barrelled man-portable machine gun, between 1,200 and 1,500 rpm. They are still in use with over 40 armed forces, worldwide and will be around for a long time to come. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
