Non EU sales Only. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec. Deactivated Old Spec Merchant Marine Lewis .303 Machine Gun. In very good deactivated condition, and British military stamped. This is one of a batch of aircraft Lewis guns that were converted for the Merchant Marine during WWII. They were used mainly in the anti aircraft role for ship defence, but were also occasionally used for engaging surfaced U-Boats! The Lewis gun entered service with British and Commonwealth forces in 1914. It was the first practical one man portable machine gun and stood up well to the atrocious conditions of the western front. They were still in use in WWII, mostly with the Royal Navy, but Empire army units still made use of them right on up to the Korean War. An absolute classic. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly. Can be redeactivated to EU/ UK spec.
