Deactivated Old Spec M1A1 Carbine

Availability: Out of stock

This item is no longer available and is for refence only

Quick Overview

Deactivated Old Spec M1A1 Carbine. WWII Inland production in excellent condition with sling (post war), oil bottle and genuine, original stock. Every feature on this gun is correct for the period. This particular weapon was used by the 101st Airborne Brigade on D-Day and then given to an English farmer to shoot rabbits with on the eve of Operation Market Garden. This was in payment to him for supplying them with game during their stay next to his land! The M1A1 was first introduced in 1943, a year after the standard version, when the US airborne forces command made the request for a more compact model for paratroopers. Everyone seems to like this small weapon, but everyone talks about its lack of stopping power. Let’s be clear; the .30 carbine round has the same stopping power as a 357 magnum. It is more powerful than a 45ACP but people tend to overlook this. Nevertheless, it is one of the all-time classics from WWII and they were still being issued to LRRP teams in Vietnam. Deactivated with full working action, cocks and dry fires. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
