Deactivated Old Spec Hotchkiss Universal SMG

Availability: Out of stock

This item is no longer available and is for refence only

Quick Overview

Deactivated Old Spec Hotchkiss Universal 9mm Sub Machine Gun with original sling and jump chain. In very good, original deactivated condition and fully folds up, as it should. The `Universal’, as it was known in France, was introduced in 1949 and remained in production until 1953. Apart from the obvious ability to fold up for transport or concealed carry, it was also unusual in that it fires from a closed bolt. This, along with its long barrel, made it more accurate than most of its rivals. It was also capable of semi and full automatic fire. It served with the French Paras and Foreign Legion units in Indochina but not much was seen of it after that. An interesting part of firearms history. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
