Deactivated Old Spec Cut-Away Lanchester MK I* 9mm Sub Machine Gun. British stamped, 1943 dated Armourers Cut-Away Instructional Model and in very good deactivated condition, with correct sling. In service from 1941 to 1945, the Lanchester was actually originally a RAF design, which was taken over by the Royal Navy. It was a direct copy of the German MP28 and as such, was a well made and reliable design. They were unusual in that they were regularly issued with the long 50 rnd magazine, although they could accept the shorter 32 rnd Sten magazines. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
