The Type 94 entered service with the Japanese Empire in 1934 and was not retired from the Japanese Defence Force until 1960. It fired the same 8mm cartridge as the earlier Type 14, but was a much sturdier pistol. They are famous for the ability to be fired by a surrendering Japanese soldier whilst handing the gun to his captor by pressing in on the trigger bar on the side of the weapon and committing seppuku. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
