Deactivated Moving Bolt Matching SVT 40 Rifle SN. 2226 -
Deactivated Soviet SVT 40 Rifle in excellent deactivated condition. Latest EU Spec, with moving bolt (under spring pressure), trigger, and removable magazine. Matching numbered receiver, bolt, and stock, and 1942 dated Tula manufacture. The SVT 40 entered service in 1940 and was an improvement on the SVT 38 model. It was good design but was put to best use when issued to professional soldiers, like the Soviet Marines and Guards units, as the conscripts simply did not have the training to either make best tactical use of the weapon, or to maintain it properly. They were manufactured until 1945 but continued to turn up in Vietnam, Africa and the former Yugoslavia. They were recently seen in action in the first and second Chechen wars in the hands of the rebels. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
