The Galil was introduced in 1972 and is widely accepted as one of the best infantry assault rifles ever designed. This is the SAR (Short Assault Rifle) version in 5.56mm NATO. The 5.56mm version has been adopted by more than twenty countries, including Israel, Portugal (Elite Airborne, Commando and Special Forces) and South Africa. The action is a copy of the Kalashnikov and they are extremely reliable, like the AK, but much more accurate and user friendly.
