Deactivated MG13 7.92mm Light Machine Gun. 1938 dated in excellent deactivated condition. The MG 13 was introduced in 1930, where it served as the standard light machine gun of the Wehrmacht. It was superseded by cheaper, faster firing models: the MG 34 and then later the MG 42. It was officially withdrawn from service in 1934, with most of the machine guns sold off to Portugal. Those MG 13s that were not sold were placed into storage instead, and these later saw use in World War II by second line German units. It was also used for the tail gunner's position in the Ju 87 Stuka dive bomber. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
