Deactivated Marlin M1897 .22 RF Lever Action Rifle in fair cosmetic, very good mechanical condition, with ability to still split in two. Serial number makes the date of manufacture at 1897. The Marlin Model 1897 first appeared in 1897 and is still in production, as the Model 39A. They are excellent little game rifles and generations of American farm boys have learnt to shoot on them. Marlin’s rifle designs and build quality are excellent. They tend to make guns according to old world standards of bluing and woodwork, and this, coupled to their reliability and accuracy makes them very popular guns.
