Deactivated Very Rare US M60 7.62mm NATO General Purpose Machine Gun in very good condition. Vietnam era Saco Lowell production with correct early feed tray. The M60 entered service with the US armed forces in 1957 and is still serving in a limited role to this day with both the US Forces and the RAF for door guns on Chinooks. Development of the M60 began almost immediately after WWII. The Americans were highly impressed by both the MG42 and the FG-42 and several design features of both guns are clearly evident in the M60. They are most famous for their use in the various Vietnam films and Rambo, but have been adopted by over 40 nations, including Australia, Jordan, South Korea and Greece. Although they have largely been replaced in US service by the M240, they are still the standard issue machine gun of many countries and will be around for a long time to come. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
