Deactivated M3 Grease Gun .45 ACP Sub Machine Gun. Wartime Guide lamp production in very good, original deactivated condition. With moving cocking handle (under spring pressure), and trigger. The M3 entered service with the US armed forces at the end of 1942. It was inspired by the British Sten Gun and was seen as a cheaper, quicker to manufacture alternative to the Thompsons. Despite being made of stamped steel the M3 was a rugged, dependable weapon and after WWII they went on in service through the Korean war and Vietnam. The later model, the M3A1 was still being issued to tank crews in the first gulf war. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom, and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
