Deactivated M1918 BAR

.
Deactivated M1918 .30-06 Calibre Browning Automatic Rifle by Marlin in very good condition and with full working parts. Yet another design from the genius Johns Moses Browning, the BAR entered service with the US Army in France in 1917. By the end of the war, just over 50,000 had been delivered into the hands of the troops, but their effect on the outcome of the battles they were used in far outweighed their number. It was the most advanced hand held small arm of its age and was revered by the men who used it and feared by the enemy. The volume of firepower one man could put down was unheard of at the time, and it seemed to be impervious to abuse and mud and the general horrors of the trenches. Between the wars they were a favourite of prohibition gangsters and they served faithfully throughout WWII, Korea and well into the Vietnam War. They keep working in any environment and have been adopted by over thirty countries. They still pop up today, mostly in Latin America and the Far East and are pretty much indestructible. As long as they are cleaned and fed ammunition they will be around for years to come. A total classic. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
