Deactivated US M19 60mm Mortar in good deactivated condition. The firing lever is missing (easily made), hence price. The M19 Mortar was first issued in 1943 and although originally intend for airborne use, was adopted by other US infantry and Marine units, and was in use until the end of the Vietnam war with front line units. It was designed as an indirect fire, high trajectory weapon that could be operated by one man, though in use it was more common for two man teams to operate the weapon. It had a range of one mile and was capable of firing high explosive or smoke rounds. They were also used by Canada, Turkey and Japan until the late 1970s and can still be encountered in the Third world. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
