.
Deactivated M1 Garand 30/06 Calibre Rifle with M7 Grenade Launcher attached. New spec and in very good deactivated condition, with moving bolt handle, safety and trigger and complete with grenade spigot, grenade sight, mount and pouch with instructions, recoil pad and original leather sling. The M7 Grenade launching Attachment for the Garand Rifle was first issued in 1943 and was in use right on into the Vietnam war. It was able to fire grenades up to 350 metres. Fragmentation, anti-armour and smoke grenades were available and a special blank cartridge was used to fire them. The M1 Garand was the first semi-automatic rifle to be issued to armed forces of any nation. Called "the greatest battle implement ever devised" by General George S. Patton, the Garand entered service in 1936 and was officially replaced by the M14 in 1957. However, the M1 continued to be used in large numbers until 1963 and was a reserve weapon until 1966. They are utterly reliable, very, very accurate and very powerful. A real rifleman’s rifle and still a valued rifle to this day by shooters all over the world. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
