Deactivated Super Rare Lewis Gun Sustained Fire Set. Consisting of: British Model 1914 MKIII Lewis .303 Machine Gun. In very good, original deactivated condition, with no rust or pitting and very smooth action. BSA production and profusely broad arrow stamped. Lewis Pintle, marked `ADAPTOR FOR MOUNTING GUN LEWIS .303, AJ LTD. Also broad arrow stamped. Vickers Tripod. Complete with magazine, loaded with inert .303 ammunition. The Lewis gun entered service with British and Commonwealth forces in 1914. It was the first practical, one man portable machine gun and stood up well to the atrocious conditions of the western front. They were still in use in WWII, mostly with the Royal Navy, but Empire army units still made use of them right on up to the Korean War. An absolute classic. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K
