Deactivated Rare Lee Speed .303 Rifle. In excellent, original deactivated condition, by BSA & Co. The Lee Speed was introduced in 1895 and was the sporting version of the Lee Metford. Although supposedly a sporting weapon, large quantities were bought by British and Colonial officers, who appreciated the more luxurious fit and finish and many served in the Boer War were they gave a good account of themselves. A rare rifle to find deactivated. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
