Deactivated Lee Enfield Jungle Carbine SN. 8729 “

Availability: In stock

Quick Overview

Deactivated Lee Enfield.303 Calibre Jungle Carbine in very good deactivated condition. This example has been converted from a Savage No 4, hence price. The Lee Enfield MKV Jungle Carbine came into British service in 1944 and, as its name implies, was intended for jungle warfare. The obvious differences were the shortening of the barrel, which required the addition of a flash hider and a large rubber recoil pad on the redesigned stock to help absorb the punishing recoil. The action was also lightened to help reduce weight. The result was probably the best looking Lee Enfield rifle ever made. They saw service in the Far East in WWII and in Malaysia, Borneo and Africa after the war. A lot is made of the fact that many had a wandering zero but at the ranges they were intended to be used at most of the time this was not an issue. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
