Deactivated Rare French Lebel .22LR Training Rifle in very good deactivated condition, with matching numbers. The Lebel Training rifle was introduced in 1900 and was used to help train Officer Cadets in basic marksmanship principles. The Lebel rifle had the distinction of being the first military rifle to use smokeless powder ammunition and served the French armed forces until the late 1930s, although units of the French Foreign Legion were still using them in Indochina and North Africa until well into the 1950s. An important piece of firearms history. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
