Availability: In stock

£2,250.00

Quick Overview

Deactivated KPV 14.5mm Heavy Machine Gun in very good deactivated condition, with moving bolt (under spring pressure) and opening top cover. The KPV (Kroopnakaliberni Pulemyot Vladimirova, Крупнокалиберный Пулемёт Владимирова, or КПВ) is a Soviet designed heavy calibre machine gun, which first entered service in 1949. It was later redesigned for anti-aircraft use, because it showed excellent results as an AA gun, with a range of 3,000 meters horizontally and 2,000 meters vertically against low flying aircraft. It was used in the ZPU series of anti-aircraft guns. Its size and power also made it a useful light anti-armour weapon on the BTR series of vehicles and the BRDM-2 scout car. It has been adopted by over sixty nations, and is still in use in most of them, and will be around for a long time to come, as they are very reliable and easy to maintain. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
